• The Rangers were defeated by the Pittsburgh Penguins, 4-3, in the shootout tonight at Madison Square Garden, and are now 29-20-4 overall with a 12-11-3 mark at home.  New York has registered a point in 25 of their last 38 games (22-13-3), and is 10-6-2 in their last 18 games at MSG.
• Ryan Callahan notched a power play goal with 13 seconds remaining in the second period to tie the score at three goals apiece, while making his return to the lineup after missing the last 19 games with a broken hand suffered at Pittsburgh on December 15.  He was also credited with a team-high, seven hits and registered four shots on goal in 21:07 of ice time to capture second star honors.
• Brandon Prust opened the game’s scoring with an even strength goal at 3:52 of the first period, and has now recorded five points (three goals, two assists) in the last eight games.
• Artem Anisimov registered one goal, won six of eight faceoffs (75%) and logged a career-high, 22:01 of ice time.  He has now tallied six points (five goals, one assist) in 10 career regular season games vs. Pittsburgh.
• Brandon Dubinsky recorded the primary assist on Anisimov’s second period goal, in his return to the lineup after missing the last five games with a stress fracture of his left fibula.  He also won a game-high, 15 faceoffs in 19 attempts (79%), was credited with four hits and led all team forwards with 23:10 of ice time.
• Brian Boyle registered an assist on Prust’s first period goal to extend his scoring streak to a career-high, four games, recording four points (two goals, two assists) over the span.  He has now tallied 17 points (eight goals, nine assists) in the last 26 games, including six points (four goals, two assists) in the last eight.
• Marian Gaborik recorded an assist on Anisimov’s second period goal to extend his scoring streak to three games (one goal, two assists over the span), and has now registered eight points (five goals, three assists) in the last six games.
• Henrik Lundqvist stopped 23 of 26 shots through regulation and overtime, and turned aside six of seven shootout attempts.  He has now posted a record of 21-16-4 overall with an 8-8-3 mark at home.  Lundqvist has held opponents to three or fewer goals in 32 of his 41 appearances this season.
• Mats Zuccarello registered a power play assist and logged 17:46 of ice time.  He has now tallied 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in the last 13 games, including eight points (two goals, six assists) in the last eight contests.  Zuccarello is tied for second on the team in scoring with 12 points (three goals, nine assists) since joining the team on December 23.
• Michael Del Zotto tallied the primary assist on Callahan’s power play goal, and was credited with five hits.  Six of his 10 points this season have been registered on the power play.
• Wojtek Wolski recorded one assist in 16:59 of ice time, and has now registered 14 points (five goals, nine assists) in 18 games vs. Eastern Conference opponents.  He has tallied eight points (three goals, five assists) in 10 games as a Ranger, including seven points (two goals, five assists) in the last seven contests.
• Dan Girardi was credited with three hits and logged 26:08 of ice time, in his return to the lineup after missing the last two games due to injury.
• The Blueshirts’ practice schedule for tomorrow, February 2, is 2:00 p.m. at the MSG Training Center.

“We held them to six scoring chances throughout the game. I thought we struggled a little bit with their speed throughout the neutral zone. They have a defensive game which is probably the best in the League as far as transition. That’s where I thought we struggled through a lot of the game – controlling their speed through the neutral zone, but we defended well. They beat us in the shootout. It’s probably two of the best in the shootout as far as goaltending and (Marc-Andre) Fleury wins this one.”
