ROAD WARRIORS MAKE VISIT TO TIGERVILLE ELEMENTARY

The Greenville Road Warriors headed up Highway 25 today to the northern part of Greenville County to pay a visit to Tigerville Elementary School.

Road Warriors players T.J. Reynolds, Sean Berkstresser, Connor Shields, Marc-Olivier Vallerand, Chris Morehouse, Cullen Eddy, Mark Voakes, Justin Bowers, Sam Klassen, and Julien Brouillette spoke to groups of third and fourth graders at Tigerville for 30 minutes. The talked focused on physical fitness and proper nutrition, and also touched on the daily routines of hockey players and what the players do to take care of their bodies during the season. The enthusiastic students had time for a question and answer session with the players, and even got to do some of the warm up exercises the players do.

As the program was ending the Road Warriors gave the students information on how they could earn free tickets to the team’s home game on November 21, 2010. To reinforce the message of physical fitness and staying active, the Road Warriors will give Tigerville students who are active for an hour a day for the next week a free ticket to the game on the 21st.

Schools who are interested in hosting the Road Warriors should contact Bethany Wimmer, Director of Marketing and Community Relations. Bethany can be reached by phone at 864-250-4799 or by email at bethany.wimmer@greenvilleroadwarriros.com.

Mark your calendars! The Road Warriors are back on home ice to take on the Florida Everblades on Thursday, November 11 at 7:05 p.m. ET. The Road Warriors will honor active military members and military veterans by giving them one free ticket to the game. All that’s needed to cash in on the offer is to present military identification at the BI-LO Center Box Office. It is also the Road Warriors’ second Thirsty Thursday of the season where select fountain drinks and draught beers will be sold for just $1.
