BOWERS RETURNED BY PORTLAND

GREENVILLE, SC –The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that forward Justin Bowers has been returned to the team by the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League.

Bowers returns to the Road Warriors following his fourth-career promotion to the AHL. He played three games with the Pirates and earned two penalty minutes. For the Road Warriors, the third-year pro is third on the team in scoring with 25 points (9G, 16A) through 23 games. Bowers’ 16 assists pace the club, and he is second on the Road Warriors with 12 power play points (4G, 8A).

Mark your calendars! The Road Warriors are hosting their inaugural Teddy Bear Toss this Friday against the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:05 p.m. at the BI-LO Center. Fans are encouraged to bring a new, or gently used, unwrapped stuffed animal to the game and throw it onto the ice after the Road Warriors score their first goal. They tossed toys will be given to WSSL-FM‘s Toys For Tots drive. Additionally, Greenville native Edwin McCain will perform the “Star Spangled Banner” before the game.
