A NEW FACE IN DANBURY

Danbury WhalersDanbury Whalers President and General Manager Herm Sorcher announced on Thursday that defenseman Ladislav Hruska has signed an agreement for the 2011-12 hockey season.  Hruska joins Anthony Monte as a new face in the Danbury lineup for the coming season.

Hruska checks in at 6’3″ and 210 pounds and is a native of Praque, Czech Republic.  Ladislav comes to Danbury after spending last season with the Elliot Lake Bobcats of the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League (GMHL).  While playing for the league champion Bobcats, Hruska had 10 goals, 24 assists, 34 points, and 198 Penalty Minutes (PIMs).  For his Junior Hockey career in 165 games, Ladislav had 74 points and 569 PIM’s.

At 19 years of age, Hruska will be the youngest player in the Whalers lineup for the upcoming season.
