BREAKING NEWS

Sources have confirmed that New York Rangers  / Connecticut Whale restricted free agent Dale Weise has resigned with the team.

Weise’s signed for one year on a two-way deal that pays him $605K at the NHL level and a nice boost at the AHL level should he play there.

The Manitoba native will have to pass through waivers on any demotion from New York including at the end of training camp or if he is recalled.

“I’m ecstatic to be returning to the Rangers organization and getting a shot at playing in the NHL for an Original Six team,” The 23 year-old right winger told Howlings. “I’m working harder than I ever have this summer and I’ll come into camp in the best shape of my life. I’ve been told that the expectations are high for me this season and that I’ll have a great opportunity to come into camp and make the team, and really that’s all anyone can ask for is a chance… I intend to take full advantage of it and be a New York Ranger on opening night.”
