GREENVILLE WANTS BACK-TO-BACK W’S FOR CHRISTMAS

GREENVILLE, SC Tonight the Greenville Road Warriors welcome the Reading Royals to the BI-LO Center for the first of back-to-back games heading into the Christmas Holiday.

The Road Warriors (15-8-1) host Reading (10-12-5) tonight for the third of six scheduled meetings between the clubs. Fans can follow the action by watching live on America One or listening at greenvilleroadwarriors.com. Greenville is looking for its first win of the season against Reading after suffering 3-2 and 7-3 setbacks in Greenville on October 15 and November 4, respectively. The Royals, meanwhile, have won two in a row and three of their last four after enduring a nine-game winless streak from November 18 to Dec. 8. The Road Warriors are averaging 45.5 shots per game against Reading this season but have been limited to five goals in the two games.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Greenville set a team record with 47 shots on goal in the 7-3 loss to Reading on November 4 at the BI-LO Center. Jeff Prough led the way in the game with seven.
  • Greenville’s nine home wins are tied with Elmira for the most in the Eastern Conference. Only Alaska (14) and Las Vegas (11) have more home wins than the Road Warriors.
  • The Road Warriors are 0-3-0 against Atlantic Division teams this season but are 15-5-1 against the South and North.
  • Justin Bowers leads the league in power play assists with 11. He has one PP assist and three points (1G, 2A) against the Royals. Reading’s Denny Urban is right behind him with 10.
  • Defenseman T.J. Reynolds leads the Road Warriors in +/- at +11 and is tied for the seventh best +/- rating in the league. He has been even or better for each of the last 10 games.
