REINFORCING THE BLUELINE

The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that they have signed defensemen Sean Perkins.

Perkins, 25, a fifth year pro, began his season with Vimmerby HC of Sweden’s Division 1 and recorded four assists in 10 games. Perkins was a member of the 2007-08 Kelly Cup Champion Cincinnati Cyclones and had three assists in four playoff games. The 5-9, 190-pounder from Commerce, Michigan played 156 professional games between Europe and North America over his first four seasons. He was most productive in 2008-09 with 15 points (7G, 8A) in 28 games between Edinburgh of the Elite Ice Hockey League and Cincinnati of the ECHL.

Prior to turning pro, Perkins spent three seasons of junior hockey in North American Hockey League, United States Hockey league, and British Columbia Hockey League and totaled 71 points (12G, 59A) in 130 games.

Perkins is expected to be in the lineup tonight when the Road Warriors take on the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:35 p.m. at the BI-LO Center.
