RANGERS ANNOUNCE 2007-08 TEAM AWARD WINNERS
Henrik Lundqvist, Brandon Dubinsky, Colton Orr, Jason Strudwick, Brendan Shanahan, and Sean Avery all receive honors

The New York Rangers have announced Team Award Winners for the 2007-08 season.

Henrik Lundqvist, who notched his 10th shutout of the season on April 3rd vs. the NY Islanders, was named the Rangers Most Valuable Player for the second consecutive season, as voted by the Professional Hockeywriters Association. Lundqvist was also the recipient of the Rangers Good Guy Award for his cooperation with the media.

Rangers rookie Brandon Dubinsky, with 14 goals and 26 assists for 40 points, was named the winner of the Steven McDonald Award, for his extra effort on the ice. Dubinsky also was awarded the Rookie of the Year from the Rangers Fan Club.

Colton Orr, leading the team in penalty minutes, and
Jason Strudwick, in his third season with the Blueshirts, were named co-recipients of the Players’ Player Award, voted by the Rangers players.

Sean Avery, with 15 goals on the season, was named the winner of the Rangers Fan Club’s Frank Boucher Trophy, awarded to the player most popular both on and off the ice.

Brendan Shanahan, with 650 career goals, was the recipient for the second consecutive year of the Ceil Saidel Memorial Award by the Rangers Fan Club, for his dedication to the organization both on and off the ice.
