NYCHOLAT TRADED AGAIN…

From 2002 – 2005, while a part of the Rangers organziation Lawence Nycholat spent most of his time with the Wolf Pack in Hartford. Nyco (knee-co) as he was known was a very popular and productive player. He had decent offensive upside and was a tough stand up guy who didn’t have a problem with tossing the gloves to the ice.

Today, he was traded yet again. According to TSN, the Ottawa Senators sent the Calgary native to Vancouver in exchange for Ryan Shannon who spent time in Portland with the Pirates from 2005 – 2007.

The trade to Vancouver is the third trade of Nyco’s career. He was first traded to the Rangers from the Minnesota Wild on March 11, 2003 for former Pack netminder, Johan Holmqvist. After the Rangers decided to let him walk, he signed as a UFA with Washington. He was later traded by the Capitals to Ottawa on February 26, 2007 for Andy Hedlund and a sixth round pick.

In the picture is an award I presented to Nyco. My company, Crossroads Consulting, sponsored a contest called the “Three Stars of the Game Award.” Nyco was given the award for player of the season as voted by the fans.
