WHITE TO HARTFORD

After all the talk and speculation, the New York Rangers have officially sent Todd White to The Connecticut Whale.

We will have more on this later. White is not on the ice for warm-ups. Oren Eizenman is…for that matter as is Stu Bickel. Recent addition Justin Williams is also not out on the ice.

Here’s the official release:

NEW YORK RANGERS TRANSACTION UPDATE

New York, December 29, 2010 – New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that forward Todd White has been assigned to the Connecticut Whale of the American Hockey League (AHL).

White, 35, has tallied one goal and one assist in 18 games this season.  He registered his first point as a Ranger with a goal vs. Atlanta on October 27.  He recorded his first assist as a Blueshirt, while shorthanded, in a 3-0 win at New Jersey on November 5.  White made his Rangers debut on October 18 vs. Colorado, and has been a healthy scratch in 19 of the team’s 37 contests.

The Kanata, Ontario native was acquired by the Rangers on August 2, 2010, from Atlanta in exchange for forwards Donald Brashear and Patrick Rissmiller.

The Rangers return to action tonight when they will face-off against the New Jersey Devils at the Prudential Center (7:00 p.m.), to begin a three-game road trip.  The contest will be televised live on MSG Network, and can be heard on 1050 ESPN Radio and newyorkrangers.com.
