MCNICOLL RECALLED FROM FLORIDA
Second-year pro earns first call-up of season

CHARLOTTE, N.C. Charlotte Checkers general manager and head coach Jeff Daniels announced today that the team has recalled forward Cedric McNicoll from its ECHL affiliate, the Florida Everblades.

McNicoll, 22, has six goals and nine assists (15 points) in 21 games with Florida this season, including four goals and an assist in his last four games.

The Longueuil, Quebec native played 52 AHL games last season with the Lake Erie Monsters and Albany River Rats, where he tallied seven goals and eight assists (15 points).

The Checkers (20-12-5) travel to Albany tonight and Springfield Saturday before returning to Charlotte on Thursday, Jan. 13 to host the Manchester Monarchs at 7 p.m. The fifth annual AutoTrader.com “Race Night” will be held on Friday, Jan. 14 and features headliner Joey Logano.
