ROAD WARRIORS COUNTING DOWN 2010-11 TOP TEN

GREENVILLE, SC The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that they will be counting down the 10 best moments from the 2010-11 season over the next 10 weeks. Fans can track the countdown online at www.greenvilleroadwarriors.com.

The Road Warriors’ inaugural season was filled with memories that will live on in the minds of fans for many, many years to come. Now that the summer has come and the ice is gone from the BI-LO Center, it is a perfect time to re-live those memories. For the next 10 weeks the Road Warriors will count down from 10 to one the moments that brought the fans to their feat and made the hair on the backs of their necks stand up. Fans are encouraged to visit the Road Warriors’ Facebook page and post their suggestions for moments that should be included in the Top 10 Countdown.

Leading off the countdown is the first goal in the history of the team. Even though injuries limited him to 15 games with the club, Matt Schepke made a big first impression with the Road Warriors. The second-year pro out of Michigan State scored two goals in the Road Warriors’ home-opening win over the Florida Everblades. His first of the night came at 19:23 of the first period and gave the Road Warriors a 1-0 lead. Schepke’s score was set up by Connor Shields and Chris Chappell who each ended the night with a pair of assists.
