WHALE CAMP – DAY TWO – FIRST CUTS ARRIVE, VALENTENKO SPEAKS

The Connecticut Whale conducted their second day of training camp and had a full scrimmage on the Olympic size rink at Champions Skating Center in Cromwell, CT. Bruce Berlet will have a write up on it later on. What we have for you here is head coach Ken Gernander‘s comments afterwards.

What we also have for you is Pavel Valentenko‘s interview. He talks about several things that are interesting. Given his limited English and the fact that he’s a shy guy, the answers are not long winded but quite honest and direct. He will talk about dealing with nervousness and most importantly he answers the question directly if he is considering returning to Russia or not.

The Whale play another scrimmage tomorrow morning at 9am at Champions before playing preseason contests on back-to-back nights Tuesday and Wednesday.
