NEW YORK RANGERS POST-GAME NOTES
New York Rangers 3, Philadelphia Flyers 5 (Preseason Game No. 3, Away No. 2)
-The Rangers were defeated by the Philadelphia Flyers, 5-3, tonight at

Wells Fargo Center, and are now 1-1-1 in preseason action.

-New York notched two power play goals in the second period, from John Mitchell at 10:09 of the period and Brian Boyle at 15:02.

-The Blueshirts out-hit the Flyers, 17-11, in the contest.

Andreas Thuresson opened the game’s scoring with an even strength goal at 2:36 of the first period, while making his first appearance with the Rangers.  He also tied for the team-high with three shots on goal in 9:27 of ice time.

-Brian Boyle registered a team-high, two points, including a power play goal, and also tied for the team-high with three shots on goal in 16:25 of ice time.  Boyle has now registered two points (one goal, one assist) in two preseason contests.

-John Mitchell notched a power play goal and logged 20:13 of ice time.  He has now recorded one point (goal) in two preseason games.

Henrik Lundqvist stopped 26 of 30 shots in 59:39 of ice time, and has now turned aside 44 of 49 shots in preseason action.

Mats Zuccarello and Ryan McDonagh each tallied an assist on John Mitchell’s power play goal, and Dan Girardi recorded an assist on Brian Boyle’s power play goal.  McDonagh also led all skaters with 26:27 of ice time, and Dan Girardi logged 25:21 of ice time.

-The Rangers practice schedule for tomorrow, September 27, is 4:15 p.m. (local time) at Tesla Arena in Prague, Czech Republic.
