The Greenville Road Warriors wrap up their six-game road trip by paying a visit to the Wheeling Nailers today. It is Greenville’s last shot at Wheeling in the regular season.

The Road Warriors (19-12-2) visit Wheeling (17-12-2) today for the second of two scheduled meetings between the clubs. Fans can follow the action by watching live on America One or listening at greenvilleroadwarriors.com. The Road Warriors are 0-1-0 this season against the Nailers and 6-1-0 overall in their history against Wheeling.

The Road Warriors are looking for some retribution after Wheeling spoiled the Road Warriors’ home opener with a 6-1 triumph on October 14. The Road Warriors are coming off of a 4-1 win over Toledo last night while Wheeling was dealt a 3-1 loss by the South Carolina Stingrays. The Road Warriors are trying to close out their road trip with a victory and earn their 10th road win of the season which would tie them for second most in the league. Wheeling is 8-7-1 at home this season.

NOTEWORTHY:

Greenville is 2-2-0 in the last four games in which it has scored first. The two losses account for half of the regulation losses suffered by the Road Warriors when scoring first.

The Road Warriors’ 211 minor penalties are the most in the Eastern Conference and 2nd most in the league behind Bakersfield’s 224.
Greenville is 14-0-0 when giving up two goals or less in a game. The Road Warriors are 5-12-2 when they give up three or more goals in a game.
Wheeling is 6-7-2 under Clark Donatelli since he took over as head coach for Stan Drulia. Drulia was promoted to assistant coach of the Milwaukee Admirals on December 7.

Jeff Prough has been held to two goals in his last 10 games with the Road Warriors including the eight games leading up to his call up to Connecticut. He has six assists, though, in that time.
