The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that they have signed defenseman Adam Comrie.

Comrie, 21, comes to Greenville after beginning the season with the Cincinnati Cyclones. There he had six points (3G, 3A) in four games to begin the season. A second-year pro, Comrie earned eight points (4G, 4A) in 13 games with Cincinnati last season and added one goal in two playoff games. The 6-4, 215-pound rearguard spent a majority of his rookie season with Rochester of the American Hockey League where he recorded five assists and 18 penalty minutes in 44 games.

Comrie, who hails from Ashburn, Virginia, was a third-round draft pick of the Florida Panthers (#80 overall) in the 2008 National Hockey League Entry Draft. He had a three-year career in the Ontario Hockey League with the Saginaw Spirit and Guelph Storm. As a 19-year-old in 2009-10 Comrie led the Storm defensemen with 40 points and helped the club reach the OHL playoffs.
Comrie is expected to be in the lineup when the Road Warriors host the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:35 p.m. at the BI-LO Center this Friday.
