HARTFORD, November 7, 2018: Hartford Wolf Pack Community Foundation, Inc. president, and Wolf Pack head coach, Keith McCambridge announced today that the Wolf Pack Community Foundation has issued three separate grants, totaling $10,000 in funding, to two local entities.
A total of $5,000 was donated to Winding Trails, Inc., $3,000 towards the construction of an equipment shed, to store the hockey gear for Winding Trails’ street hockey programs, and $2,000 in support of Winding Trails’ summer campership programs. The Wolf Pack Community Foundation also granted $5,000 to Special Olympics Connecticut, in support of its Northern Time Trials.
“We are extremely honored to be able to support two tremendous local organizations with these funds,” McCambridge said. “Both Winding Trails and Special Olympics Connecticut add so much to our community, and do such great work to make so many lives better, and we are excited for the opportunity to contribute to their efforts.”
Winding Trails, Inc. is a non-profit organization serving people from Farmington, CT, and surrounding communities, providing year-round recreational and educational for the enjoyment and growth of families and individuals of all ages. Winding Trails is dedicated to the conservation and stewardship of the natural woodlands and waterways that allow outdoor programming, character development, and other activities that strengthen the lives of those they serve.
“Winding Trails cherishes our long-term partnership with the Hartford Wolf Pack and their generous Community Foundation,” said Scott Brown, Executive Director of Winding Trails. “For over twenty years, the Hartford Wolf Pack have dedicated themselves to improving the lives of Connecticut’s children through grants and programming. I can remember Wolf Pack players volunteering their time to hold roller hockey clinics at our facility as far back as 1998. This year, the Hartford Wolf Pack Community Foundation’s grant of $5,000 will be used to send underprivileged children to summer camp through the Campership program and provide a much-needed storage shed for our camp street hockey program. We can’t thank the Hartford Wolf Pack Community Foundation enough for their generosity and their shared mission of bettering the lives of young people.”
Special Olympics Connecticut (SOCT) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society through sports training and competition. SOCT was formed in 1969 to serve the needs of people with intellectual disabilities throughout the state.
“Special Olympics Connecticut is thrilled to welcome the Hartford Wolf Pack as a sponsor of our Northern Time Trials event taking place on May 5, 2019,” said Liza Nolan, Senior Director – Foundations & Grants for Special Olympics Connecticut. “In order to achieve our mission of providing year-round sports training and athletic competition, we rely heavily on the support we receive from our community partners such as the Wolf Pack. The Foundation’s mission to improve and enhance the lives of Connecticut residents is congruent with ours, and we applaud the many efforts the Wolf Pack has made to support underserved communities and individuals throughout the state. We look forward to welcoming the Hartford Wolf Pack into our family of valued sponsors.”
The Hartford Wolf Pack Community Foundation supports charitable programs for inner-city youth, and youth amateur sports, in order to enhance and improve the lives of Connecticut’s children and of those in our community.
