NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Greenville Swamp Rabbits, despite erasing a two-goal deficit in the third, fell in the shootout 4-3 to the South Carolina Stingrays at the North Charleston Coliseum on Saturday night.

Before the midway point of the first, Justin Florek gave the Stingrays the 1-0 advantage with his eighth of the season.

In the second, Bryce Reddick tied the game for Greenville after Ben Freeman delivered a pass into the slot that Reddick buried at the 8:25 mark. Shortly after, Lawton Courtnall found the back of the net to regain the lead before scoring again, at the 17:34 mark to give South Carolina a 3-1 lead.

Greenville came within a single goal as Jackson Leef scored his first of the season just 1:41 into the third, before a late period goal by Quin Foreman, his second of the season, tied the game at 3-3 to force overtime.

After a scoreless overtime period, the Swamp Rabbits were held off of the score sheet and saw two goals, from Andrew Cherniwchan and Jordan Subban, give South Carolina the victory in the shootout, dropping the Swamp Rabbits to 7-7-0-1.

Greenville returns to Bon Secours Wellness Arena on Sunday afternoon to complete the three-in-three with South Carolina at 3:05 p.m.
