*****UPDATE*****
Howlings received an email from Christos Nikolis regarding last night's game with Bridgeport. It reads as follows:
I followed up on the game from
last night and it appears it was a building Internet issue, not anything on
NeuLion’s end.
I was told this morning that it
has been rectified.
Please keep in touch on this or any
other matter along the way, and your readers should feel free to do the same.
It was another bittersweet night for Wolf Pack fans last night…well not exactly. The 2,147 who attended the game were treated to another fine performance by the win-one, lose-one Wolf Pack, who defeated the Bridgeport Sound Tigers 4-2 Wednesday night. Howlings was unable to attend and we, like many fans around the nation, who count on our season’s pass with AHL Live to get us in to away games and home games that we cannot attend, were once again denied the ability to watch the game. This is, by our count, at least the fifth or sixth game this season where either parts or the entire game failed to be broadcast. Combine the poor quality of the video of the broadcasts that plagued early games, the out of sync audio that still exists, and a controversy early on that was still unresolved until recently, where early bird purchasers were promised free unlimited access to “archived games” for paying $140 in advance for the season pass, were later told they would have to pay for them, and to this point anyhow, AHL Live, for the most part, has been somewhat less than a reliable service.
Howlings has spoken to and written about this back on December 15th. Howlings at that time spoke with Christos Nikolis, EVP, Marketing and Business Development for the AHL. Nikolis is the AHL's point man with NeuLion, the corporate parent of AHL LIVE. Nikolis insisted that the AHL is pleased with the delivery of the service and with the company delivering it. NeuLion, by the way, is owned and operated by the NY Islanders organization. Nikolis told Howlings at that time that he is open to receiving email from fans about this issue. cnikolis@theahl.com. He also stated at the time that Ron Nunn at NeuLion ron.nunn@neulion.com would also field questions from fans as well. We encourage readers to write to both to find out what the organization’s plans are to address these issues.
Back to the game. Since Howlings was unable to watch the game we will count on the eyes and insight of our good friend Bruce Berlet who wrote about the game for Hartfordwolfpack.com. Another very talented writer with a strong set of eyes is Mike Fornabaio of the Connecticut Post who shares the Bridgeport perspective.
Don’t forget to cast your vote in our poll about the Pack and Bridgeport and fantasy moves.

NEXT GAME:
Friday night at home against Springfield. The Pack have had their way with the Falcons this season. Over the four games, the Pack are 3-1-0-1 with their i-91 Rivals. Four of the five games so far have gone past the regular finish line into extended time. Perhaps this is the game where the Pack are able to get on a bit of a roll since they’ve been on their roller coaster of wins and losses. Springfield is 2-0-1-0 in three visits to the XL Center this season. Game time is 7pm.
