June 24 event will be first chance to get NHL preseason game tickets

CHARLOTTE, N.C.—The Charlotte Checkers today announced the details of this year’s “Draught for the Draft” party in conjunction with the NHL Entry Draft. The event will take place on Friday, June 24 from 6-10 p.m. at Buffalo Wild Wings at the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

At last year’s inaugural event, the Checkers welcomed more than 500 fans to Buffalo Wild Wings as the Hurricanes selected first-round standout Jeff Skinner.

The “Draught for the Draft” party will feature trivia, games, giveaways and raffle prizes as well as appearances by Chubby, the CheckMates, Stormy and the Storm Squad, Chief Fan Rouser Wilson and Woody from 106.5 The End. There will also be a coach’s corner segment and a giveaway of Checkers souvenir cups.

The event will be the first opportunity for fans to get tickets for the Hurricanes’ preseason game in Charlotte on Sept. 25 by way of a discounted Checkers six-pack. The pack includes a ticket to the Hurricanes’ preseason game, five of the best Checkers games in the first half of the season and a $10 merchandise certificate starting at just $100.
