“My experience at the World Juniors — I’ve been there twice — for a junior player, it’s one of the best experiences that you can have. … You’re talking about representing your country, you’re talking about playing in (a) high-pressure environment (and) important games. So, I think for the development of any young player, if you have the opportunity to represent your country, it’s something you can’t pass on. Filip is given the opportunity, and I think it’s going to make him a better player.” – Rangers Head Coach Alain Vigneault on the team’s decision to loan Filip Chytil to the Czech Republic’s team for the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship

“We have been able to learn and grow as a group. They are learning what the AHL is about, how fast the pro game is and how little time and space you have [to react]. … We are pleased with the development of our guys now.” – Hartford Wolf Pack Head Coach Keith McCambridge on the progress of the team thus far this season (Credit: Hartford Courant)
