MASSE: HOF MOVES FORWARD WITH INDUCTION
HOCKEY HALL OF FAME MOVING FORWARD WITH PLANS FOR THE “20/21” INDUCTION CELEBRATION

TORONTO (June 28, 2021) – Lanny McDonald, Chair of the Hockey Hall of Fame, confirmed today that the Hockey Hall of Fame is moving forward with plans for the “20/21” Induction Celebration on Monday, November 15, 2021, as previously announced. The annual gala fundraiser will be held outside the extended “four walls of the Hall” for the first time since relocating to BCE Place (now Brookfield Place) in 1993, as the Class of 2020 will take center stage at MERIDIAN HALL located kitty-corner to the iconic Hockey Hall of Fame heritage building at the intersection of Yonge and Front Streets.
Elected by the eighteen member Hockey Hall of Fame Selection Committee at a virtual meeting held on June 24, 2020, Ken Holland, Marian Hossa, Jarome Iginla, Kevin Lowe, Kim St-Pierre, and Doug Wilson will be inducted as a stand-alone class given the cancellation of the 2020 Induction Celebration and the Board’s decision to forego nomination and election proceedings in 2021 as a result of the pandemic.
“We are very excited about getting back on track with the tradition of celebrating excellence through the achievements of the distinguished Class of 2020 and a full slate of weekend activities in November,” said McDonald. “The change in venue also gives us more flexibility in terms of event logistics and enhances the induction ceremony experience for all present to honor our game’s newest legends.”
