LEAVING ON A JET PLANE

Headshot_potterCorey Potter will make the trip out west with the Rangers after all and will not be in the Wolf Pack line-up when they take on Worcester later this evening.

Potter played well in his debut with the Rangers.

Could this move be foreshadowing other moves the Rangers have in mind?

Here is the official release:

New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that defenseman Corey Potter has been recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Potter, 24, has registered two goals and nine assists for 11 points, along with
30 penalty minutes in 24 games with Hartford this season. He currently
ranks second on the team among defensemen in goals (two) and points (11), and
is tied for second among Wolf Pack blueliners in assists (nine). Potter
has recorded two multiple-point games this season, including a multiple-assist
effort on October 22 at Worcester. The 6-3, 200-pounder skated in one
game with the Rangers this season. He made his NHL debut on December 7
vs. Calgary.

The Lansing, Michigan native was originally the Rangers’ third choice, 122nd
overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
