Danielle Nardi, the Community Relations Manager for the XL Center and the Hartford Wolf Pack, told Howlings, “I’m very excited about this event.  The US National Amputee Hockey Team is a great group of guys and we’re thrilled to be hosting this exhibition game for them.  Last year they played the NYPD hockey team and this year the amputee team’s coach, Bret Chernik, and I have arranged for them to play a team from the Connecticut State Police.”

Nardi adds, “Until the team reaches (paralympic status), they have to cover all their own costs for equipment, and travel, so we’re hosting this game not only to create awareness of the team and sport, but also to help them raise some money to go to the World Championships.”
