DOV GRUMET-MORRIS NAMED GOALIE OF THE WEEK AGAIN 

One of the great mysteries to us is why Dov Grumet-Morris is not playing in the American League. In the games we’ve seen him play we thought he was solid and he’s really kicking it in the ECHL. Someone is going to grab this guy and have on fine goaltender.

Greenville Road WarriorsPRINCETON, N.J. – Dov Grumet-Morris of the Greenville Road Warriors is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Dec. 6-12.

Grumet-Morris, who also won the award last week, joins Dany Sabourin (Oct. 25-31 and Nov. 1-7, 2004) and Tyrone Garner (Feb. 12-18 and Feb. 19-25, 2001) as the only goaltenders to win the award in consecutive weeks since it was introduced for the 1997-98 season.

The 28 year old was 2-0-1 with a goals-against average of 1.62 and a save percentage of .928 last week as the Road Warriors earned five of six points in a series at Florida. He opened the week making 21 saves in a 3-2 shootout loss on Wednesday before stopping 19 of 20 shots in a 2-1 win on Friday and turning aside 25 shots in a 5-2 win on Saturday.

Grumet-Morris is 10-2-1 with two shutouts, a goals-against average of 1.99 and a save percentage of .931 in 13 appearances for the Road Warriors this season. He is second in the ECHL in goals-against average and wins, and is third in save percentage.

The native of Evanston, Illinois was a fifth round selection of the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. Grumet-Morris has appeared in 61 games for Cincinnati and Greenville since 2006 with a record of 41-13-5, a goals-against average of 2.44 and a save percentage of .916.

He has appeared in 29 games with Portland, Hamilton, Milwaukee, Manitoba, Connecticut and San Antonio of the AHL since 2005 posting a record of 8-13-5. He has appeared in two games for Connecticut this season with a record of 0-1-0, a goals-against average of 1.32 and a save percentage of .935.

Mark your calendars! The Road Warriors are back on home ice for three games next week on December 14, 15, and 17 all at 7:05 p.m. at the BI-LO Center.
