HEY NOW YOU’RE AN ALL-STAR… 

Greenville Road WarriorsGREENVILLE, SC – The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that defenseman Julien Brouillette and center Brendan Connolly have been voted starters on this season’s ECHL All-Star team. The starting lineup is determined in voting by ECHL coaches, team captains, media directors, broadcasters and media members

Brouillette, who was loaned to Lake Erie of the American Hockey League on December 14 and is still with the Monsters, is the top scoring defenseman in the ECHL with 23 points. He also leads defensemen with 11 goals, seven power play goals, and 13 power play points. The fourth-year pro is second among ECHL defensemen with a +16 rating. The 24-year-old Brouillette recorded his 100th ECHL point with his first goal of the night on December 11 in a 5-2 win over the Florida Everblades.

Connolly is second on the Road Warriors with 28 points (13G, 15A) through 27 games this season, and is tops among ECHL forwards with a +15 rating. He was named ECHL Player of the Month, and Plus Performer of the Month for the month of November after notching 18 points (9G, 9A) and a +12 rating in 14 games. The second-year pro from Canmore, Alberta recorded a league-high 12-game point streak (9G, 10A) from November 11 to December 2. Connolly received the first call up to the AHL of his career on December 9 when he was loaned to the Adirondack Phantoms.

The full starting lineup for the ECHL All-Stars is:

D – P.J. Atherton, Victoria (28 gp, 6g, 14a, 20 pts)

D – Julien Brouillette, Greenville (25 gp, 11g, 12a, 23 pts)

F – Brendan Connolly, Greenville (27 gp, 13g, 15a, 28 pts)

F – Mark Derlago, Idaho (29 gp, 15g, 16a, 31 pts)

F – Mitch Fadden, Florida (31 gp, 14g, 31a, 45 pts)

Hosted by the Bakersfield Condors at Rabobank Arena, the 19th Annual ECHL All-Star Classic is on Jan. 26, 2011. Reserves for the ECHL All-Star team will be announced tomorrow and the coaches will be announced on January 4.
Mark your calendars! The Road Warriors are back on home ice on Sunday, January 2 to take on the Wheeling Nailers at 7:05 p.m. at the BI-LO Center. There will be a post-game skate with the Road Warriors that is free with your ticket stub from the game.
