Dov_Grumet_Morris_Greenville2PRINCETON, N.J. – Dov Grumet-Morris of the Greenville Road Warriors has been named the ECHL Goalie of the Month for December.

Grumet-Morris went 9-2-1 with two shutouts, a 1.56 goals-against average, and a save percentage of .942 in 12 appearances for the Road Warriors, improving the club to a 23-7-2 record which ranks first overall in the league. He allowed two or less goals in 10 of his 12 appearances during the month.

The 28-year-old opened the month with 21 saves in a 7-1 win against Gwinnett on Dec. 2. He then made 26 saves in a 2-0 shutout against South Carolina on Dec. 4. After making 35 saves in a 5-1 win over Gwinnett on Dec. 5 and 25 saves in a 5-2 victory over Florida on Dec. 11, Grumet-Morris made 20 saves in his second shutout of the month against Gwinnet on Dec. 17. He tied his season high with 35 saves in a 4-3 win at South Carolina on Dec. 29.

Grumet-Morris leads the league with a goals-against average of 1.93 and 15 wins (15-4-1), while ranking second in the league with a .933 save percentage. Grumet-Morris won the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the weeks ending Dec. 5 and Dec. 12 becoming just the third goaltender in the award’s history to win in back-to-back weeks.

Since 2005, Grumet-Morris has appeared in 29 American Hockey League games with Portland, Hamilton, Milwaukee, Manitoba, Connecticut, and San Antonio where he has a record of 8-13-5. He has appeared in two games for Connecticut this season with a record of 0-1-0, a goals-against average of 1.32, and a save percentage of .935.

Mark your calendars! The Road Warriors are on home ice tomorrow, Jan. 2, to take on the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:05 p.m. at the BI-LO Center. It will be another Dollar Drink Thursday with select fountain drinks and draught beers on sale for just $1! There are group seats still available for your group of 10 or more.
