Captain T.J. Reynolds’ “Pink in the Rink” jersey. |
GREENVILLE, SC – The Greenville Road Warriors unveiled today their one-night-only “Pink in the Rink” jerseys that they will wear for Friday night’s game at 7:05 p.m. against South Carolina.
This Friday when the Greenville Road Warriors square off against the South Carolina Stingrays they will wear these special pink jerseys in recognition of the team’s partnership with the Mary Kay Foundation to raise money and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. As anticipation builds for the inaugural “Pink in the Rink” event, the Road Warriors wanted to give you a first look at the jerseys that will be worn that night. Every Greenville player will don one of these jerseys and will even have pink and navy blue socks to match. The best part of it all? You could take one of these special jerseys home with you immediately after the game!
The jerseys will be auctioned off via a silent auction during the game between Greenville and South Carolina. Bid sheets for each individual jersey will be located at tables just inside of the main entrance at the BI-LO Center. Fans can begin placing bids at 6:00 when the doors open and bidding will close immediately at the end of the second intermission. Winning bidders will be notified by the Road Warriors’ staff during the third period and will be able to pay for the jerseys via cash, check or credit card at the satellite merchandise stand located on the arena concourse behind sections 116 and 117. After the game ends, players will make their way up to the main team store behind section 111 to meet the winning bidders, pose for a picture, autograph the jersey, and hand it over to the winner.
With raising money and awareness in the fight against breast cancer as the main goal of the evening proceeds from the night’s jersey auction will be donated to the Mary Kay Foundation. Bids for the jerseys will begin at $300. Along with the jersey auction, proceeds from the night’s Chuck-A-Puck will go to the Mary Kay Foundation on top of $1 from every full-value/face-value walk up ticket. You can also purchase tickets from a local Mary Kay Independent Sales Representative and $3.50 from that ticket purchase will go to the cause. Click here for the form to order through Mary Kay.
As part of the inaugural “Pink in the Rink” festivities, the Road Warriors will be honoring breast cancer survivors during a pre-game ceremony, Mary Kay will showcase some of its pink Cadillacs at the BI-LO Center, and National Sales Director Holli Lowe from Wallhalla will drop the ceremonial first puck.
If you can’t make it to the game, there will be one other way for you to contribute to the “Pink in the Rink” effort. The next edition of “Road Warriors Live” at Quaker Steak and Lube on January 24 will feature Road Warriors players as guest bartenders from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. All tips that are given to the players will be donated to the Mary Kay Foundation. The “Road Warriors Live” show will run fro 7:00 to 7:30 featuring the “Voice of the Road Warriors” Ray Schmitt with head coach Dean Stork and team president and general manager Neil Smith as his guests.
