The Rangers defeated the Boston Bruins, 5-3, tonight at Madison Square Garden to improve to 43-32-5 overall, including a 19-16-4 mark at home. The Blueshirts tallied five unanswered goals, including three in the game’s final 3:48, to comeback from a 3-0 deficit. The Rangers moved into seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings, and have a four point lead on the ninth place Carolina Hurricanes.

New York is now 10-3-1 in their last 14 contests, and have posted a record of 5-0-1 in their last six games at MSG.

The Rangers’ 43 wins is tied for seventh most in a single season in franchise history.

Vinny Prospal notched two goals in the second period, and registered four shots on goal and a plus-two rating in a season-high, 21:14 of ice time. It is his first multi-goal performance of the season, having last recorded two goals in a game on March 12, 2010 at Atlanta. Prospal has now tallied 18 points (six goals, 12 assists) in the last 19 games, and ranks second on the team in scoring with 21 points (eight goals, 13 assists) in 27 games since returning from injury on Feb. 3.

Michael Sauer recorded a career-high, two points, including the game-winning goal with 2:57 remaining in regulation. He has now registered three points (one goal, two assists) in the last five games.
