What does this mean to Dov? That at ECHL level he can only sign with Greenville, but is free to sign with an AHL or NHL club?

Obviously, the Whale’s crease is “packed” (Mitch added emphasis on the unintended pun) right now with Talbot, Johnson(RFA?), Stacjer, and Missiaen, but it seems Dov was their best in ’11.

    Elsie,
As usual you ask a good question. In fact it’s the million dollar question for everyone that is following this team. To me, DGM is the best of the bunch. The question is do the Rangers think that he could be a viable backup a year from now when Marty Biron’s contract is up? If they don’t think he’s a viable candidate for that role, then the organziation will likely let him walk becasue as you mention they have so many goaltending prospects and only can put one of them in Greenville.

If I were guessing, and really that’s all I’m doing at this point, is that Johnson has not won the confidence of the organziation and he will not be tendered and allowed to go free. It’s likely that it’s going to be Stacjer and Talbot in Hartford and Missiaen in Greenville. DGM is probably going to sign elsewhere. I think he demonstrated to the entire AHL that he can play at that level and will.

If it was my call I would have DGM in HArtford with Stacjer and move Talbot to Greenville and look to “lend” Missiaen to another team so that they don’t lose his rights.

    That’s my guess…
