GREENVILLE, SC – The Greenville Road Warriors renew the Battle of the Palmetto State tonight when they host the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:35 p.m. at the BI-LO Center.
The Road Warriors (4-5-0) host South Carolina (8-3-0) tonight for the first of 16 scheduled meetings between the clubs. Last season the Road Warriors compiled a 9-8-0 record against South Carolina which included a 5-3-0 mark at the BI-LO Center. Greenville’s Jeff Prough will try to keep his recent hot streak going tonight, while South Carolina goalie Philipp Grubauer will try to do the same. After registering four goals and two assists in three games last week, Prough was named runner up for ECHL Player of the Week honors and Grubauer was named ECHL Goalie of the Week by winning all three of his starts including one by shutout.

Jeff Prough was runner up for ECHL Player of the Week last week after posting six points (4G, 2A) in three games. He needs four goals to reach 100 for his ECHL career.

Greenville is 3-2-0 on its 8-game homestand. It will be followed by 7 straight road games starting Nov. 18. Both are the longest such stretches of the season for the Road Warriors.

Road Warriors defenseman Francis Meilleur is tied for fourth among ECHL rookie defensemen with four assists.

The Road Warriors have the second rated power play in the ECHL at 27 percent on the season. They have achieved that ranking despite having the second fewest power play opportunities in the league with 37.
