TRAVELLING WARRIORS CRAVING SOME WINGS

The Greenville Road Warriors enter a three-in-three weekend with a visit to Wings Stadium tonight to face the Kalamazoo Wings. It is the fourth game of a six-game northern road trip on which the Road Warriors have won two of three.

The Road Warriors (18-11-2) visit Kalamazoo (17-11-3) tonight for the second of four scheduled meetings between the clubs. Fans can follow the action by watching live on America One or listening at www.greenvilleroadwarriors.com. The Road Warriors are 1-0-0 this season against the Wings and 4-2-0 in their history against Kalamazoo. The Road Warriors are tasked with slowing down the best offense in the Eastern Conference that has produced 114 goals this season. The Wings are coming off of a 7-1 thrashing of Toledo on New Year’s Eve while the Road Warriors surrendered six goals in a loss to Cincinnati on Wednesday night. The Road Warriors will be trying to avoid losing back-to-back games in regulation for the first time since November 19 and 27.

NOTEWORTHY:

Greenville’s eight road wins are tied for third most in the ECHL despite Greenville having played the second fewest road games in the league (13). The .615 road win percentage is 5th best in the league.

The Road Warriors’ 198 minor penalties are the most in the Eastern Conference and 2nd most in the league behind Bakersfield’s 211.

Greenville is 13-0-0 when giving up two goals or less in a game. The Road Warriors have kept opponents under two goals in three of the last six games.

At .750 (6-2-0), the Road Warriors have the best win percentage in the league against North Division teams. They are 19-5-1 against the North all-time including 12-3-1 on the road.

Jeff Prough had been held to two goals in his last eight games with the Road Warriors before being called up to AHL Connecticut. He had five assists over that stretch of games.
