ROAD WARRIORS LOOK TO GROW FIRST PLACE LEAD AGAINST GLADIATORS

Tonight the Greenville Road Warriors make the short trip west on I-85 to pay a visit to the Gwinnett Gladiators. It is the third of four straight between Greenville and Gwinnett and the first of two at the Arena at Gwinnett Center.

The Road Warriors (21-13-2, 44 pts.) visit Gwinnett (17-11-9, 43 pts.) today for the sixth of 17 scheduled meetings between the clubs. Fans can follow the action by watching live on  America One  or listening at greenvilleroadwarriors.com. The Road Warriors are 4-1-0 this season against the Gladiators and 14-8-0 overall in their history against Gwinnett. Tonight Greenville embarks on the second half of the 2011-12 season with a two-game winning streak in tow. The Road Warriors have taken down Gwinnett in each of the first two games of a string of four straight between the teams. They have won three straight against the Gladiators overall dating back to October 22.

NOTEWORTHY:

Greenville’s .725 win percentage (14-5-1) against divisional opponents is the best in the Eastern Conference. Only Alaska (.786) and Las Vegas (.833) are better against division opponents.

Bryan Hince is the only goalie in Road Warriors history to win each of his first four starts for the team. With his win last night he tied Nic Riopel for the longest win streak of the season for Greenville.

Brett Robinson has scored six goals in seven games in the month of January. That surpasses his production in the 22 games combined from November and December.

The Road Warriors have out-chanced Gwinnett on the power play in three straight games by an overall 15-7 margin.T.J. Reynolds leads the Road Warriors all-time in games played at 107. Including Thursday night, the only games Reynolds has missed for Greenville have been due to suspension (2 games).
