Today marks the final meeting of the season between the Greenville Road Warriors and the Reading Royals. Greenville is searching for its first win of the campaign against the Royals after falling 1-0 on Saturday night at the Sovereign Center.

The Road Warriors (32-20-4, 68 pts.) visit Reading (26-23-7, 59 pts.) today for the sixth of six meetings between the clubs. Fans can follow the action by watching live on America One or listening at Greenvilleroadwarriors.com. The Road Warriors are 0-4-1 against the Royals and 2-5-1 all-time in their history against Reading. Greenville’s last win against Reading was on March 24, 2011; a 5-2 win at the BI-LO Center that helped the Road Warriors clinch the top seed in the Eastern Conference.

Greenville is finishing its sixth three-in-three series of the season today and the Road Warriors are 2-3-0 in the final game of three-in-threes so far in 2011-12. When it comes to Sunday games, the Road Warriors have played some heart-stoppers this season. Of the seven Sunday contests so far four, including each of the last three, have gone to overtime. The Road Warriors are 3-1-0 in overtime on Sundays.

Who: Greenville Road Warriors at Reading Royals
What: Away Game #29, Season Game #57
When: 4:05 p.m.
Where: Sovereign Center, 700 Penn St., Reading, PA 19602

NOTEWORTHY:

  • The Road Warriors are tied for the most wins in the Eastern Conference with Elmira at 32. Reading’s 26 are the most for a team not currently in the top eight in the East.
  • Last night was Blake Parlett‘s first regular season ECHL game since 2/15/11. He had eight points (1G, 7A) in his last five games before a call up to AHL Connecticut.
  • Jason Missiaen has started 11 of 12 games for Greenville in February. He is 6-4-1 over that span, including four-game win streak from 2/11 to 2/17/12.
  • Last night was Greenville’s first away game since Feb. 3 (0-3 L at GWT) without a power play goal.
  • Last night’s loss was Greenville’s first in which it has held an opponent to one goal this season. The Road Warriors are 21-1-1 when holding opponents to two goals or fewer this season.
