Greenville, SC –The Greenville Swamp Rabbits announced today that forward Timmy Moore has signed with the organization for the upcoming 2018-19 season. The rookie skater played in seven ECHL games at the end of the 2017-18 regular season after completing a four-year stint at Robert Morris University.
Moore, 24, made his pro debut with the Swamp Rabbits on Mar. 24 against the Jacksonville Icemen, playing the final seven games of the season with the club. His first taste of pro experience came after completing fourth NCAA season at Robert Morris. The 6-foot skater achieved career bests in point production, assists, and games played. The alternate captain of the Colonials did not miss a single game and was fourth on the team in scoring with 36 points (13G, 23A).
“Greenville is a great town, but I think with coach Kerr coming in and wanting to develop a hard nosed style is what made my decision easy,” said Moore. “I see myself as a player that can contribute at both ends of the ice and I’m looking forward to getting things going.”
“Coming in for a few weeks after my college season allowed me to see what the game was like at the pro level,” he continued. “It gave me a good idea of what to expect coming into this year and the preparation I have to do this summer.”
The Grosse Point, Michigan native tallied a team leading four game-winning goals as a senior. As a junior, his 15 goals were third best on the roster and again ranked among the team’s top five scorers with 25 points (15G, 10A). at the collegiate level, Moore posted 36 goals and added 40 assists in 136 games at his alma mater. In the past three seasons, he missed just one game and helped his program to a pair of conference championships.
“Timmy was a key player in college for Robert Morris and was an integral part of that team. He showed leadership and contributed on both sides of the ice as a senior,” said head coach Kevin Kerr. “With the pro experience he gained last season, he has the ability to excel this year. We’re excited for him to return and be a solid two-way forward in our lineup.”
Before enrolling at Robert Morris, Moore played his junior hockey for the Amarillo Bulls (NAHL), Pembroke Lumber Kings (CCHL).
Moore is the fourth player to sign a deal with the Swamp Rabbits this month, joining forwards Will Merchant, JT Henke and Johno May. As the off season continues, stay tuned to SwampRabbits.com for a full updated list of players to sign for the upcoming season.
