HARTFORD, January 6, 2020: Hartford Wolf Pack general manager Chris Drury announced today that the Wolf Pack has recalled goaltender Tom McCollum from the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.
McCollum, a 30-year-old 11th-year pro, is 3-0-0 since joining the Everblades December 26, with five goals-against on 80 shots (1.65 goals-against average, 93.8% save percentage) and one shutout. Prior to that, the 6-3, 215-pound Sanborn, NY native played 11 games for the Maine Mariners of the ECHL, going 5-5-0 with a 3.71 GAA and an 88.6% save percentage.
McCollum spent last season with the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL, playing 34 games and going 12-10-10, with a 2.72 GAA, an 89.9% save percentage and two shutouts. A first-round draft choice (30th overall) by the Detroit Red Wings in 2008, McCollum has seen action in three NHL games with the Red Wings in his career, and has logged 315 total AHL games with the Admirals, Grand Rapids Griffins, Charlotte Checkers and Stockton Heat. His career AHL stats show a record of 147-117-23, with a 2.72 GAA, a 90.7% save percentage and 11 shutouts. McCollum won a Calder Cup with the Griffins in 2012-13.
Prior to turning pro, McCollum played three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League, with the Guelph Storm and Brampton Battalion.
The Wolf Pack’s next game is at Hershey this Wednesday night, January 8, with faceoff at 7:00.
The next home action for Hartford is this Friday night, January 10, a 7:15 contest vs. the Charlotte Checkers. The first 2,000 fans into that game will receive a free Wolf Pack clear tote bag, intended to reduce plastic waste, courtesy of Lewis Real Estate Services, LLC. Also, all Friday-night Wolf Pack home games feature $1 hot dogs and $2 beers through the start of the second period, presented by Nomads Adventure Quest.
