HARTFORD, CT – The American Hockey League today announced its four-member class for induction into the American Hockey League Hall of Fame in 2027.
Two members of the class have ties to the Hartford Wolf Pack organization: former player Ross Fitzpatrick and former executive Tom Mitchell will join Dave Fenyves and Doug Gibson in the AHL Hall of Fame.
Fitzpatrick played two seasons (1990-91, 1991-92) in the organization as a member of the Binghamton Rangers. With the Rangers, Fitzpatrick played 145 games and recorded 127 points (60 g, 67 a).
He finished second on the club in scoring in 1991-92, then retired following the season.
The Rangers relocated to Hartford after the 1996-97 season and became the Wolf Pack for the 1997-98 campaign.
Mitchell served as franchise owner and General Manager of the Rangers from 1990-91 through the 1996-97 season, when the club relocated to Hartford.
He joined the club in the Connecticut capital and served as executive Vice President of Hockey Operations for three seasons (1997-98 – 1999-00). Mitchell’s last season with the club, 1999-00, ended with the Wolf Pack winning their first Calder Cup Championship.
The 2027 AHL Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on Feb. 8, 2027, as part of the 2027 AHL All-Star Classic in Cleveland, OH.
