WOLF PACK BLANK BRUINS AS REIMER SHINES IN DEBUT

HARTFORD, CT – The Hartford Wolf Pack snapped their five-game losing streak on Friday night with a 2-0 shutout victory over the Providence Bruins at PeoplesBank Arena.
The win marked the second shutout victory for the Wolf Pack over the Bruins this season. They are now 2-0-0-0 over their Atlantic Division rivals.
The Bruins controlled possession in the opening frame, outshooting the Wolf Pack 14-4. James Reimer was the headliner of the period, making 14 saves in his Wolf Pack debut to keep the score 0-0.
Reimer was sensational again in the second period, making another twelve saves to keep the score 0-0 entering the third period.
The Wolf Pack nearly opened the scoring in the final minute of the middle stanza. After a successful penalty kill, Liam Greentree was sprung in on a breakaway. The rookie forward was denied by the right pad of Simon Zajíček, however.
Greentree was hooked on the play, giving the Wolf Pack their second power play of the night entering the third period.
On that power play, Greentree broke the ice. Glenn Gawdin kept the puck in and fed Greentree at the backdoor. There, the rookie tapped home his team-leading fourth goal of the season at 57 seconds to make it a 1-0 game.
That was all the offense the Wolf Pack needed, as Reimer shut the door with another nine saves in the third period. That earned him his first AHL victory and shutout since Jan. 22, 2011, as a member of the Toronto Marlies.
Carey Terrance ended the intrigue at 19:18, hitting the empty net for his first goal of the season.
The Wolf Pack open an eight-game road trip tomorrow night when they visit the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Puck drop is set for 6:05 p.m., and coverage is available on AHLTV on FloHockey.
The Pack is back at PeoplesBank Arena Saturday, Nov. 14! The puck drop is set for 7:15 p.m. as the Wolf Pack welcome the Springfield Thunderbirds to town. ‘Wolf Pack Pregame’ begins at 7:00 p.m. on AHLTV of FloHockey and Mixlr.
