CHECKERS ASSIGN FIVE TO ECHL AFFILIATE FLORIDA
Training camp roster down to 23; Practices resume tomorrow
Charlotte Checkers head coach and general manager Jeff Daniels announced today that the team has assigned five players to its ECHL affiliate, the Florida Everblades.
Forwards Matt Beca, Mike McKenzie and Matthew Pistilli along with defensemen Trevor Hendrikx and Elgin Reid will report to Florida’s training camp.
The Checkers’ training camp roster now stands at 23 players and practices will resume Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Extreme Ice Center in Indian Trail, N.C. The team will conclude camp on Thursday before heading to Hartford for its first ever game.

Tue, Oct. 5 – 10 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Wed, Oct. 6 – 10 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Thu, Oct. 7 – 10 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

The Checkers’ home opener is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 15 at Time Warner Cable Arena. Season tickets for the inaugural 2010-11 AHL season are now on sale and season ticket packages start as low as $10 per game.
