GOEPFERT, MCNICOLL RECALLED FROM FLORIDA

CHARLOTTE, N.C.Charlotte Checkers general manager and head coach Jeff Daniels announced today that the team has recalled forward Cedric McNicoll and goaltender Bobby Goepfert from its ECHL affiliate, the Florida Everblades.

It is the second recall of the season for McNicoll, 22, who had two goals and three assists in six games with the Checkers between Jan. 7 – Jan. 16. In 58 career AHL games, the Longueuil, Quebec native has 20 points (9g, 11a). McNicoll also has seven goals and 16 assists (23 points) in 26 ECHL games with the Everblades.

Goepfert, 27, leads the Everblades in all goaltending categories, including games played (41), wins (23), goals against average (2.73), save percentage (.919), shutouts (2) and saves (1197). The 5-foot-10 native of Kings Park, N.Y. has appeared in four career AHL games, posting a 1-1-1 record. Goepfert was drafted in the sixth round by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
