O’MALLEY TO RETURN TO DANBURY

Danbury WhalersDanbury Whalers President and General Manager Herm Sorcher has announced that right wing, Sean O’Malley has signed an agreement to return to “The Hat City” for the 2011-12 season.

The 5’10” 180-pounder along with Igor Karlov & Lucas Schott were the only three Whalers to play in all 47 games.

O’Malley was 5th on the team with 16 goals, including netting two on both the power play and shorthanded. “Big Red” was third on the team with 137 shots on goal and tallied three game winners.

Capture 1One of the Fairview Park, Ohio native’s finest moments of the season came the week of  November 20 when in three games, he scored three goals – two of them for game winners.

Moving his feet on the ice is not the only one of O’Malley’s skills. He was voted Best Dancer by the fans at the Danbury Whalers Holiday Party.

Speaking on his return to Danbury, O’Malley sais, “I love this city. I love this team. I always dreamed of playing football at Ohio State…I think this is better.”
