WANT TO WORK IN PROFESSIONAL HOCKEY?

By Mitch Beck

Getting a position is professional sports is like trying to get a straight answer from a scandal ridden politician…next to impossible.

Well, there are a few ways to get in to the industry…

1) Be related to someone who works in it
2) Have some compromising pictures of someone in a hierarchy
3) Start as an intern

or:

4) Be willing to start in a lower league and build up your experience so that when you have credibility you can go to a higher league as an experienced person.

The Danbury Whalers have opportunities for people to get their foot-in-the-door in the following areas:

In terms of game-day operations, the team is looking for:

Team Organist
Do you play the piano? Or do you know someone who would be a great fit?

Promotional Team
Be a part of the game experience – lots of fun!!! Ask yourself – do you like fun? If yes, this is for you.

Singers
We need vocalists this year – if you have the pipes, we’d love to hear from you.

As far as positions where you can get paid and get experience so that you can move up in the trade, the Whalers are looking for:

PART TIME WORK:
Ticket Office Representatives

Group Sales Manager
If you are interested in working a few hours this is a great spot

No experience is necessary for either opportunity however a sales background is highly preferred.

If you are interested, send your resume to Herm Sorcher at hsorcher@thedanburywhalers.com, or you can call him directly at 973-713-7547.
