ROAD WARRIORS BATTLE WALLEYE

GREENVILLE, SC Tonight the Greenville Road Warriors play host to the Toledo Walleye at 7:35 p.m. at the BI-LO Center. It is the first ever meeting in Greenville between the clubs.

The Road Warriors (3-3-0) host Toledo (1-3-0) tonight in the third game of an eight-game homestand for the Road Warriors. Greenville is off to a 2-0-0 start after taking down Florida in back-to-back games last Friday and Saturday. Toledo, meanwhile, has played the fewest games in the ECHL so far and is looking for its first win since Oct. 22 vs. South Carolina. The Road Warriors are trying to keep the momentum going for an offense that has produced an average of 5.33 goals per game over the current three-game winning streak. Tonight is the first of five meetings this season between Greenville and Toledo with three being played at the BI-LO Center. The Road Warriors are 2-0-0 in their history against Toledo.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • With three assists, rookie defenseman Francis Meilleur is tied for sixth among freshman blueliners in the ECHL with three points. He had assists in back-to-back games on 10/22 and 10/28.
  • After two wins last weekend, Nic Riopel has won eight straight regular season starts dating to March 13, 2011. He is 16-5-1 for his career in the regular season at the BI-LO Center.
  • Greenville is 2-0-0 on its 8-game homestand. It will be followed by 7 straight road games starting Nov. 18. Both are the longest such stretches of the season for the Road Warriors.
  • The Road Warriors are seventh in the league at 3.33 goals per game. They are averaging 5.33/game during the 3-game win streak.
  • In just six games, Sam Klassen has already surpassed his power play points total (1) from 2010-11 with three (1G, 2A). Including the 2011 Kelly Cup Playoffs, Klassen has registered eight points (3G, 5A) in 17 games.
