Greenville Road WarriorsBY: Ray Schmitt, Voice of the Greenville Road Warriors

Tonight the Greenville Road Warriors will look to respond to the Kalamazoo Wings who won the first of two meetings between the clubs this week on Thursday night. It’s the second of six straight at home for the Road Warriors.

The Road Warriors (27-18-3, 57 pts.) host Kalamazoo (26-15-5, 57 pts.) today for the fourth, and final, meeting this season between the clubs. Fans can follow the action by watching live on America One or listening at Greenvilleroadwarriors.com. The Road Warriors are 1-2-0 this season against the Wings and 4-4-0 overall in their history against Kalamazoo. Greenville will have to slow down the high-flying Kalamazoo offense to come away with two points tonight. The Wings are averaging 6.5 goals in their two wins over Greenville this season, but in the road Warriors’ victory they held Kalamazoo to two scores. Greenville is giving up an average of 2.95 goals per game at the BI-LO Center this season.

Come out and join the Road Warriors for their second-annual Scout Night. Last season it was the biggest crowd of the year with 6,388 in attendance, and this year is promising to be bigger and better. Group tickets still remain available for your group of 10 or more with groups getting a discount off of the box office price and preferred seating based on availability.

Who: Greenville Road Warriors vs. Kalamazoo Wings
What: Home Game #24, Season Game #49
When: 7:05 p.m.
Where: BI-LO Center, 650 N. Academy St., Greenville, SC 29601

NOTEWORTHY:

  • The Road Warriors tied a club record with three power play goals in their 4-1 win over South Carolina on Tuesday. Greenville has scored three PPG in a game six times this season (5-1-0).
  • Jeremy Gouchie has a point in three straight games (1G, 3A) since taking over as first-line center after Justin Bowers‘ call up.
  • After scoring a goal in eight of 15 games in January, Marc-Olivier Vallerand has gone five games without a goal. That ties his longest drought of the season (third time).
  • Road Warriors defenseman Lee Baldwin set a career high with three points (3A) in the 4-1 win over South Carolina on Feb. 7. It was Baldwin’s second multi-point game of his career.
  • Bretton Cameron has posted four points (1G, 3A) in seven games since coming to Greenville in a trade from Stockton. His current three-game point streak is tied for his longest of the season.
