Tonight the Greenville Road Warriors begin a five-game, eight-day road trip by visiting the Elmira Jackals for the first time since the 2011 Kelly Cup playoffs.

The Road Warriors (31-18-4, 66 pts.) visit Elmira (30-19-4, 64 pts.) today for the first, and only, meeting between the clubs this season. Fans can follow the action by watching live on America One or listening at  Greenvilleroadwarriors.com. The Road Warriors and Jackals are meeting up for the first time since the 2011 Kelly Cup playoffs. Greenville won the first round series three games to one thanks to Sean Berkstresser’s clinching goal in double overtime of Game Four. Tonight’s match up features the two teams with the highest win totals in the Eastern Conference. The Jackals have won two of their last five home games and lost the most recent game at First Arena, 8-1, to Trenton on February 18. Greenville, meanwhile, is playing its first road game since winning 4-1 at South Carolina on February 7. Greenville is 4-2-0 in its last six road games.

Fans can head to Bailey’s Sports Grille (2409 Laurens Rd. in Greenville) for an official Road Warriors watch party tonight. Grab some friends and get there for the Road Warriors up on the big screen and great food and drinks at Bailey’s!

NOTEWORTHY:

  • The Road Warriors lead the Eastern Conference, and are fourth in the league, with 31 victories on the season. Elmira is second in the conference with 30 wins.
  • Bretton Cameron is playing in his 100th ECHL game tonight. He has 10 points (3G, 7A) in 12 games since trade from Stockton.
  • On February 19, B.J. O’Brien became the sixth different goalie to dress for the Road Warriors this season. That is tied with Reading and Toledo for the most goalies used this season.
  • Greenville has the top road power play in the league at 25.5 percent. The Road Warriors are 6-for-17 (35.3%) on the power play in their last six away games.
  • Brent Cornelius’ first professional goal on Feb. 19 against Toledo gave every skater on Greenville’s current roster at least one goal this season.
