Tonight the Greenville Road Warriors play host to the Trenton Titans and play the middle game of a three-game home stand. Trenton is one of two non-South Division teams to visit Greenville this month.
The Road Warriors (35-20-4, 74 pts.) host Trenton (19-30-8, 46 pts.) today for the second, and final, meeting between the clubs this season. Fans can watch the action live on America One or by listening at Greenvilleroadwarriors.com. The Road Warriors are 1-0-0 against the Titans this season and 2-0-0 all-time in their history against Trenton – which includes last season when Trenton was playing as the Devils. Greenville will be going for its first home win of the season against an Atlantic Division foe in this game. So far Greenville is 0-4-1 against the Atlantic at the BI-LO Center. The Titans, meanwhile, are 1-4-1 on the road in South Division buildings after an 8-6 loss in Gwinnett last night. Their win was a 3-1 triumph over South Carolina on January 27.
Greenville is hosting a Faith and Family Night tonight. There are specially discounted tickets still available for any group of 10 or more from an Upstate church. Call the Road Warriors at 864-674-PUCK (7825) to book your group for Faith and Family Night.
Who: Greenville Road Warriors vs. Trenton Titans
What: Home Game #30, Season Game #60
When: 7:05 p.m.
Where: BI-LO Center, 650 N. Academy St., Greenville, SC 29601
NOTEWORTHY:
Goalie Jason Missiaen is third among rookie goalies with 17 wins on the season. He went 8-4-1 in February while starting 13 of Greenville’s 14 games.
Jyri Niemi has scored six goals in his last six games and is working on a two-game goal streak (3G). He has three goals in his last four home games.
The Road Warriors’ magic number to clinch a Kelly Cup Playoffs berth is 17. Any combination of the 9th place team losing standings points and the Road Warriors gaining points will shrink the number.
The Road Warriors are 4-2-0 the last six times their opponent has scored first in a game. They have won three in a row that way.
Greenville’s 22 wins against South Division opponents are tied for the most in the league with Elmira which has won 22 against the Atlantic Division.
