NEW YORK RANGERS PROSPECT REPORT: DEC. 18

1. Ty Ronning tallied four points (three goals, one assist) and recorded 14 shots on goal in three games this week. Ronning registered two goals, including his 30th goal of the season, on Dec. 16 at Victoria. The Rangers’ seventh-round pick (201st overall) in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft has recorded a goal in 19 of the last 25 contests (26 goals, 12 assists over the span). Ronning has registered 32 goals in 35 games with Vancouver in 2017-18, and he has recorded at least one goal in 23 of the 35 contests. Ronning’s 32 goals this season are a WHL career-high. He leads the Giants in goals (32), points (47), plus/minus rating (plus-16), and shots on goal (184) this season. In addition, Ronning leads the WHL in shots on goal and ranks third in the league in goals in 2017-18.
2. John Gilmour registered four points (two goals, two assists) in two games with the Wolf Pack during the week. He established a single-game AHL career-high with two goals and tied a single-game AHL career-high with three points (two goals, one assist) on Dec. 15 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Gilmour extended his assist/point streak to three games, and he has registered six points (two goals, four assists) over the span. In addition, he has tallied seven points (two goals, five assists) in the last six games and has registered 13 points (three goals, 10 assists) in his last 18 games. Gilmour leads Wolf Pack defensemen in goals (four), assists (11), and points (15) this season.
3. Patrik Virta recorded two points (one goal, one assist) and posted a plus-two rating on Dec. 15 against Ilves. The Rangers’ seventh-round pick (207th overall) in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft extended his point streak to three games (two goals, two assists), and he has registered six points (two goals, four assists) and a plus-six rating in the last six games. Virta has recorded 21 points (six goals, 15 assists) in 31 games with TPS in Liiga this season. He has established a Liiga career-high in assists in 2017-18 (his previous career-high in assists was 13, which he tallied in 49 games last season). Virta ranks third on TPS in assists and is tied for third on the team in points this season.

• Tony DeAngelo registered his first goal with the Wolf Pack on Dec. 15 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. DeAngelo extended his point streak to four games (one goal, four assists over the span), and he has recorded six points (one goal, five assists) in his last seven games. DeAngelo is tied for second among Wolf Pack defensemen in points this season (eight). 

• Marek Mazanec posted a 1-0-1 record, along with a 1.92 GAA and a .948 SV% (73 saves on 77 shots) in two appearances during the week. He stopped 42 of 43 shots he faced in regulation and overtime to help Hartford earn a point on Dec. 16 at Springfield.

• Ryan Gropp recorded a point in each of Hartford’s two games during the week (one goal, one assist). The Rangers’ second-round pick (41st overall) in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft extended his point streak to three games (one goal, two assists). Gropp has tallied six points (four goals, two assists) in the last seven games, seven points (five goals, two assists) in the last nine games, and eight points (five goals, three assists) in the last 11 contests. He is tied for second on the Wolf Pack in goals thus far in 2017-18 (six). 

• Peter Holland tied a single-game AHL career-high with three assists and posted a plus-two rating on Dec. 15 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He has notched a point in five of seven games with the Wolf Pack this season, registering eight points (two goals, six assists) over the span. Holland, who was acquired by the Rangers from Montreal on Nov. 30, has registered 26 points (10 goals, 16 assists) in 27 AHL games in 2017-18. He is also tied for 11th in the AHL in points this season. 

• Cole Schneider recorded an assist and posted a plus-three rating on Dec. 15 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He has registered a point in five of the last seven games (two goals, four assists), and he leads the Wolf Pack in assists (15) and points (21) this season. 

• Steven Fogarty tallied two assists on Dec. 15 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The Rangers’ third-round pick (72nd overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft has registered five points (two goals, three assists) in his last six games. 

• Gabriel Fontaine recorded his first career AHL multi-goal/point game on Dec. 15 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, registering two goals in the contest. The Rangers’ sixth-round pick (171st overall) in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft has also posted a plus-seven rating over the last eight games, and he is tied for fourth on Hartford in plus/minus rating this season (plus-two).

• Ryan Graves tallied a goal and led all skaters with nine shots on goal on Dec. 15 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The Rangers’ fourth-round pick (110th overall) in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft has tallied two goals/points in the last five games. Graves leads Wolf Pack defensemen in shots on goal (57) and is tied for second among team defensemen in goals (two) this season.

• Dawson Leedahl notched an assist and posted a plus-two rating on Dec. 15 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Leedahl has registered three points (one goal, two assists) and a plus-five rating in seven games with Hartford this season, and he leads the team in plus/minus rating in 2017-18.

• Tim Gettinger tallied an assist on Dec. 13 vs. Flint. The Rangers’ fifth-round pick (141st overall) in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft has recorded a point in nine of his last 12 games (eight goals, five assists over the span), and he has tallied a goal in seven of the 12 contests. Gettinger has recorded 32 points (17 goals, 15 assists) and a plus-14 rating in 32 games with Sault Ste. Marie this season. He ranks eighth in the OHL in shots on goal this season (130). Gettinger also leads Sault Ste. Marie in shots on goal ranks fourth in goals and ranks fifth in points in 2017-18. 

• Brandon Halverson made at least 30 saves in each of his two appearances during the week, and he made 37 saves to help Greenville earn a 4-3 win on Dec. 15 vs. Manchester (game began on Dec. 14, but was suspended and completed the following day).

• Chris Nell posted a 1-1-0 record along with a .922 SV% (71 saves on 77 shots) in two appearances with the Adirondack Thunder (ECHL) during the week. Nell made 36 saves in his ECHL debut on Dec. 15 vs. Worcester, and he stopped 35 of 37 shots he faced to earn his first career ECHL win on Dec. 17 at Reading.
