PORTLAND, ME – The Maine Mariners will officially hit the ice for the first time next Tuesday, October 2nd at William B. Troubh Ice Arena as training camp begins. Practices will be help at Troubh through Friday, October 5th with all sessions beginning at 10:30 AM, and running through roughly 12:00 PM. All sessions are open to the media and the public. The Mariners front office will have an informational table on site on October 2nd. The training camp roster will be announced Monday, October 1st.
The Mariners play a pair of preseason games on Saturday, October 6th and Sunday, October 7th at The Rinks at Exeter in Exeter, NH. On Saturday, October 6th, the Mariners are the “home” team, taking on the Worcester Railers at 7:00 PM. On Sunday, October 7th, they are the “away” team against the Manchester Monarchs at 4:35 PM. Admission to both games is free and a radio broadcast for each will be streamed on MarinersOfMaine.com via Mixlr.
Beginning Tuesday, October 9th, practices will begin at Cross Insurance Arena, also starting at 10:30 AM. These sessions will be open to media only, but all coverage MUST be scheduled through me ahead of time. Media members will have to meet me at the Mariners office in order to gain access to the arena. This process is not required for Troubh Arena practices next week. Please also note the practice on Wednesday, October 10th will be closed.
The Mariners open the regular season with their home opener at Cross Insurance Arena on Saturday, October 13th against the Adirondack Thunder. Game time is 6:00 PM. If you wish to apply for a credential to the home opener or any other home game (and do not have a full season credential), please do so at MarinersOfMaine.com/media.
