ROAD WARRIORS GET INTO CHRISTMAS SPIRIT
GREENVILLE, SC –The Greenville Road Warriors have been getting into the Christmas spirit with a variety of events and appearances at their home games and around Greenville. The festivities conclude with tomorrow’s Teddy Bear Toss against Gwinnett.
After returning from a road trip in Florida, the Road Warriors took some time to visit with the Children at the Meyer Center in Greenville. The entire Road Warriors team spent an hour playing with the kids, singing Christmas carols, and delivering gifts of candy canes and Road Warriors merchandise.

Earlier today the Road Warriors players appeared at the Marshall Pickens Center of the Greenville Hospital System, while others journeyed to the Wal-Mart on Woodruff Road to ring bells to benefit The Salvation Army. The kids at Marshall Pickens Center got to play some ball hockey with the pros, and the Road Warriors presented them with a Nintendo Wii that was purchased with money donated by the Road Warriors players and coaches.
At their home game yesterday the Road Warriors held a gift drive for troops serving overseas. Fans who brought a gift from a list provided by the South Carolina National Guard were given a buy-one-get-one-free coupon by the Road Warriors to say “thank you.” Cash donations were also accepted to help Blue Star Mothers ship the gifts overseas. In total the Road Warriors were able to collect over $2,000 in cash and gifts for the troops.
The inaugural Teddy Bear Toss is the highlight of this week’s activities. Tomorrow for their home game against Gwinnett at 7:05 p.m. the Road Warriors are asking all fans in attendance to bring with them a new, unwrapped stuffed animal to the game. After the Road Warriors score their first goal fans toss the stuffed animals onto the ice and all the tossed toys will be given to WSSL-FM as part of their Toys-For-Tots drive. Additionally, Greenville native Edwin McCain will be performing the “Star Spangled Banner” before the game.
Great group seats are still available for tomorrows game. If you have a group of 10 or more call the Road Warriors at 864-674-PUCK to book your group outing. Groups receive discounts off of the box office price, preferred seating based on availability, & other great benefits.
