GREENVILLE, SC – Tonight the Greenville Road Warriors go for their second straight victory over the South Carolina Stingrays. Faceoff is set for 7:05 p.m. at the BI-LO Center.
The Road Warriors (5-5-0) host South Carolina (8-4-0) tonight for the second of 16 scheduled meetings between the clubs. The Road Warriors rode a 3-for-6 effort on the power play against South Carolina’s top-rated penalty kill on Thursday night to a 5-2 win. Greenville’s Jeff Prough has scored a goal in each game so far this month and had two points (1G, 1A) on Thursday night. He needs three more goals to reach 100 for his ECHL career. Tonight is Military Appreciation Night at the BI-LO Center with any active military men and women or military veterans can get a ticket for $6 by showing their ID at the Breakaway Honda Box Office.
Who: Greenville Road Warriors vs. South Carolina Stingrays
What: Home Game #9, Season Game #11
When: 7:05 p.m.
Where: BI-LO Center, 650 N. Academy St., Greenville, SC 29601.
NOTEWORTHY:
- With four assists on Thursday night, Justin Bowers tied his team record for points in a game. Twice last season he reached the mark with 1G, 3A. Wes Cunningham also matched the total once.
- Jeff Prough’s four-game goal streak is the longest current streak in the ECHL. A goal tonight will tie him with LV’s Eric Lampe for the longest of the season. Prough needs three to reach 100 for his career.
- Greenville is 4-2-0 on its 8-game homestand. It will be followed by 7 straight road games starting Nov. 18. Both are the longest such stretches of the season for the Road Warriors.
- The Road Warriors are one of just four teams in the ECHL yet to have played an overtime game this season.
- The Road Warriors have the top rated power play in the ECHL at 30.2 percent on the season. The Road Warriors have scored at least one power play goal in eight of their 10 games this season, and have multi PPG in four of them.
